Nymans Gardens

I met up with a friend for a walk at a National Trust property on Wednesday - not far away from here.  Nymans Gardens is a favourite of mine.  I have been a NT member since Matt was a baby.  There was nothing better than packing a picnic and spending a few hours at Nymans.  We certainly got our money's worth in those early days!

I don't visit Nymans so often these days - I really must put that right.  I lovely place to spend a couple of hours and the tea and cake is always good.

So, if I know what a lovely place it is, why an earth didn't I take my proper camera?  No, I've no idea either!  But I think you can get an idea of just how pretty and colourful it is at the moment.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend.  I'm off to Spain on Monday, so I won't be posting, but will still be reading your blogs, but rather than from sunny Sussex, I shall be laying in the sun, with maybe even a glass or two of wine!

My Puppy

Yesterday was a very important day - puppy choosing day!  :) :)

He will come home as soon as we are back from our holiday.

Introducing "Bouncing Basil", which is his Kennel Club name, but I rather like Basil.  He is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, so will change from looking like a teddy bear, to a rather handsome medium sized, cheeky, golden coloured dog!

I can hardly wait.

Garden Colour - Summer 2015

Hi

I hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Matt has gone off to CCF camp to run round playing soldiers.  He loves it!

I spent most of yesterday at a card class - Zentangle inspired.  It was really good fun, with lovely people, and I came home buzzing with ideas.

Today, I've been at home, catching up with house stuff.  I had planned to sit in the garden this afternoon with my crochet and book - but both my parents have visited, the ironing seemed to go on forever, and I had a problem with the external hard drive which I use to back up my computer.  There's always another day to sit and be lazy - it's not long until my holiday!  :)

I did manage to spend some time in the garden though and thought I would share some of the colour with you.  Apologies some of the photos aren't as clear as usual - it is very windy here!

Take care and have a good week.

June Round-up

Just a quick post from me tonight.  Hasn't it been glorious today - but I'm worn out by the heat now!

So it's time to sit down with a glass of wine and some crochet and catch up with Wimbledon.

Another good month - some lovely walks, meeting a fellow blogger, my puppy has been born and plenty of cricket for Matt, and not forgetting Matt went to his first music festival and is in the photo which was in the newspaper.

Let's hope July is good too.

Hi again

Yesterday morning Matt was grumpy.  He's not prone to typical teenage grumpiness, but yesterday had it in spades!  Sadly, I stooped to his level, shouted and told him to get himself to school!  I needed a walk in the fresh air to clear my head, and start the day on a positive note.

I'm so lucky to live with this literally on my doorstep.

By the time I walked back through my door, calm had been restored!

Wishing everyone a happy weekend.  Sports Day tomorrow, and then a day in the garden and crochet on Sunday for me.

Hatchlands Park

Hi

Sorry, I've not been around much.  Life has tended to get in the way, and both a lack of photo opportunities and happy things to share have meant that there hasn't been much to write here.  I suspect that the same will be true over the next few months.  But I will pop by and share the pretty bits!  :)

Last Tuesday I took a day away from the office to meet up with a fellow blogger.  We have emailed each other regularly over the last 18 months and have become good friends - in the virtual world.  So it was really nice to finally meet up and see each other.  I'm glad to say we got on just as well in the real world as in the virtual.  And we have promised that we will meet again soon.  No photos of us - although we both like taking photos, the idea of photos of ourselves didn't appeal!  Just in case you are wondering who I met - it was the lovely Amy at Love Made my Home.  :)

Both being members of the National Trust - it made sense to meet at a NT property in the middle. Hatchlands Park fitted the bill and was a great place to visit.  I'd not been before but will certainly go back.  Especially as dogs are welcome and I am getting a puppy!

Wishing everyone a happy week.

Take care.

As you know - I love Aliums and bees on Aliums!

Trying to be creative!

Made me wonder what happened to my foxgloves.

More "trying to be creative".  This is actually a ball left over from a children's activity I think!

Stunning views and beautiful shades of green wherever you looked.

You can see more balls and space hoppers here!

And peonies for Amy!  :)
