Hi again

Yesterday morning Matt was grumpy.  He's not prone to typical teenage grumpiness, but yesterday had it in spades!  Sadly, I stooped to his level, shouted and told him to get himself to school!  I needed a walk in the fresh air to clear my head, and start the day on a positive note.

I'm so lucky to live with this literally on my doorstep.

By the time I walked back through my door, calm had been restored!

Wishing everyone a happy weekend.  Sports Day tomorrow, and then a day in the garden and crochet on Sunday for me.

x

  2. I think all mothers have their moments where they just can't take any more. I'm sure you and Matt were both feeling better after some space. Your walk looks lovely, you are very fortunate to have such a beautiful place to clear your head.

  3. I have moments like that too, and no doubt many more to come. It's good that Matt isn't normally prone to grumpiness. What a lovely place for a walk though, and the moth photo is brilliant. Do you ever read Countryside Tales' blog? She is the queen of moths, I know I've seen yours there but I can't remember what it is. Enjoy your sports day, I hope the weather is perfect for you all. 5. Hi Sara. Your flutter is a skipper- probably large but it could be small. Large skippers have light checkering on their wings and small skippers don't. I couldn't see the pic clearly enough on my mobile to tell. Its a type of butterfly even though it looks like a moth! CT x

    1. Home again now and can see from the pic when viewed on the laptop that it's a Large Skipper. Where you get Large skips you generally also get Small skips, and they are just starting to emerge now, so it's worth keeping an eye out for them. They are grass butterflies which is why you found them in all that lovely long grass on your walk x

  6. I can remember telling my eldest son, also called Matt, that not only do I get up each morning and see my mother staring back at me but now her words are coming out of my mouth and I didn't get on with my mother at which point we both started laughing fortunately I can count on one hand the amount of times we've fallen out but they all like to push our buttons. My daughter is the one I clash with the most as we're too much a like but thankfully it's not often. I always find a walk the best release. Enjoy your crochet time tomorrow mines the garden weather permitting and some cross stitch.

    1. Indeed - he was fine by the time he came home from college! And he and his girlfriend cooked me supper on Friday evening, and he cooked me breakfast yesterday morning. I could get used to that! Hope you are having a great weekend. x
