Hello again

Did you miss me?

Sorry I haven't been around for quite a while.  When Matt finished school in the middle of June, he then seemed to need to go back in every day, at various times and be collected again at odd times - a tennis match, helping to write a magazine article, starting A level Maths .....  All quite disruptive to the day - in a nice way, but not many photo opportunities.  I was also trying to get ready to go on holiday, and there was a mountain of work to be done in the office.

In the first week of Matt's summer holidays, he went to CCF camp.  He seemed to have lots of fun, and not much washing was required, (of him and clothes)  1 week = 2 t-shirts.  One on and one airing apparently.  All clothes, and kit fitted in to a small rucksack!

As soon as he was back, we packed and left for Spain.  I won't bore you with details, but home life isn't quite as straight forward as I'd like at the moment.  But you make the best of things don't you, and I can safely say that I had one of the most fun and relaxing holidays I've had for some time.  See, every cloud has a silver lining!

I have far too many photos, so may well share them over a couple of posts (assuming I don't get sidetracked!).  I also have several craft things on the go - card making and crochet, and I'm on countdown to my foot operation on 18th August.  Please bear with me, if the posts aren't quite as promised.  I am hoping that I won't feel too bad after my op, and will be able to get up straight whilst I'm immobile.  (Although, maybe that is being a little optimistic - who knows?)

Anyway, on to some photos.  I'm better with photos than words.

Sabinillas in Spain.  A real home from home for me.  My mum has owned an apartment there for the last 10 years or so, and we have been lucky enough to spend several weeks there most summers. (She prefers to spend time there outside of school holidays)  We usually meet up with friends, who have a son the same age as Matt.  We don't do much, just enjoy the sun and slower pace of life, visit a market or two, eat our meals out and savour some good wine.  Perfect, in my opinion.

Starting the holiday with a cocktail at Gatwick - actually it was pink lemonade!

Not very busy on the seafront on the way to the market.
Fruit pancake for breakfast :)

 And langoustines for supper.

Days out playing golf for the boys

Pretty sunsets at the beach

And looking towards the mountains from the apartment.

I love the light in Spain.  I don't know how or why - but it is different!

Hope you've all had a good weekend, and will try and pop back soon with some more photos.

x

    1. If it weren't for family ties and money, I'd move out there tomorrow. I love the way of life, food and the crafting in such a light is wonderful. x

  5. Hi, thought I must pop over and do catch up! I have been off the radar for a little while (thank you for your kind comment x) I find that light really affects the colour of the holiday, may be its coz you get used to the light levels and amounts where you live then when you go away it feels so very different that it actually enhances your holiday! Lovely photos :) We are going through a holiday of NCS with my eldest, he signed up and it has been week after week of organised events (which involves a fair bit of chauffeuring around.....) Kudos to him for taking the initiative - but I will be glad when it is over!!
