A trip to Hospital

I woke up one morning last August, and commented that my right foot hurt.  It swelled a little too.  And it still hurts!  Despite tests, theories, x-rays and ultra sound scans, I am yet to receive a firm diagnosis.  However, it moved forward today.  I saw a new consultant and will be having an MRI scan next week.  Hopefully, this means the problem will be identified soon.

The hospital, however, was 2 hours drive away from home.  My appointment was 9.30am, so I decided to stay near the hospital the night before, to avoid rushing and battling with Monday morning rush hour traffic.

The hospital have a "Lodge" within the grounds, which is available to patients and relatives, for a small charge.  Not quite a hotel, but my own little room, TV and space to crochet.  A freshly cooked dinner too - almost luxury!

 My Yarndale mandala was made.

The start of a new blanket for the spare room. (because I need to start a new project!)

There was a lovely colourful print above the bed.

After my appointment this morning, rather than drive home immediately I spent an hour sitting in the sunshine in the hospital gardens.  Aren't they pretty.  I'm almost looking forward to going back next week!

  1. Wow - what lovely 'healing' surroundings. Wish I'd had gorgeous gardens and sunshine when I had surgery on my knee! Good luck - hope it goes well, with whatever is up with your foot :) Tell it to 'toe the line'!x

  2. I'm glad that you had a nice place to stay and nice gardens to wander in, that must be lovely for people who have to stay for a while, a nice place to retreat to. I hope that you get some news on the foot very soon! Your mandala looks great. I really must get my little crochet hook into gear and make one too! xx

  3. Hope they sort the problem with your foot soon. That must be really annoying you.
Love your mandala, and yes, one always needs new projects to start lol

  4. I'm sorry to hear about your foot but it sounds like you're in good hands. How nice to be able to stay over, I've never heard of that before but it's very convenient if you have to travel. I hurt my foot back in September and it still hurts now sometimes so I know how painful these things can be. Take care and have a good week, Sara.

  5. I hope they sort your problem out soon, it looks a lovely healing place to stay too. Lovely mandala.

  6. Hope all goes well with the foot, what a beautiful place to stay. The mandala is a beautiful colour combination and I love the pattern of the new square.

  7. I do hope they sort you out soon, but what a lovely place to be sorted :)

  8. Sorry about your foot - how annoying. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. That looks like a very restful, tranquil kind of place to spend some time. x

  9. Just come across your blog. Photo's are lovely. I too have this crochet book and I am slowly working my way through the different blocks to find the ones I most like and those I can achieve. Hope the foot is better.
