Make do and mend

I don't like buying summer things at this time if year - unless it's an absolute bargain. I've bought bits before, Autumn arrives and it gets tucked away and neglected. Plus the fact a new pair of these is expensive!

I have a pair (well several if I'm honest!)  of wonderful fit flops. They are a couple of years old and the flowers were looking past their best. The glue had discoloured and was very visible. But there is nothing wrong with the main part of the shoe.

So, I popped in to town to see what I could find. Came back and got to work.

I sliced the old flowers off.
No going back now!
And cut some new ones from the "leather" material I'd bought earlier.
(I used a cuttlebug with a sizxix die to cut the flowers). Stuck them together and added a pearl.

I'm quite pleased with the result.
Theses might even last through next Summer! :)

  1. What a good idea! You've totally revived them. My sister swears by fit flops but I've never worn them. I've often thought about buying some plain ballet flats and customising them with a pretty flower or bow. x

  2. You really should try Fit Flops - totally wonderful! :) I love the boots too - Mukluks - heaven for feet through the winter!
