A busy week

Its been a busy week here. Work leading up to the tax year end has deadlines. Matt broke up from school with a mountain of revision to tackle. The cat had been poorly resulting in more washing and trips to the vets. (Hopefully she's feeling better this morning). Trying to organise a holiday and so much "stuff" this week. But I took a deep breath as I closed the door last night and have a quiet weekend ahead of me. So I wrote a list of what I'd like to achieve. Clearly setting myself up to fail as the list is far too long!  But I'm hoping the forecast is wrong and I can get out in the garden. If not the crochet and craft list will have some things ticked off.  I have put clean the oven on my list but I'm not making any promises!  At least it's made it on to a list which is a big step forward and acknowledgement that it must be tackled. :)
Anyway I thought I'd be honest and share what happens after a busy week!

  1. Hope you manage to get some of your jobs done and that the cat is on the mend. We were hoping to get out in the garden but looking outside now its not on the agenda.

  4. It's always very satisfying to tick things off of a long list isn't it. Oven cleaning is the job from hell. There's a firm round here that will come and do it for you! I think they'd have their work cut out with mine though. It's just started raining here, I think unfortunately it may be headed your way. I hope you have a good weekend anyway with plenty of time for the nice things. CJ xx

  5. Oh your dodgy daffs made me chuckle - I've been staring at a decrepit vase of irises for days but just haven't had the time to pick them up and pop them on the compost! Hope you manage to get outside a little bit this weekend x Jane

  6. xxx I hear you and know what/how you are feeling. It is best not to have too big a list coz it can be overwhelming :) At the moment my house is full of over long teenagers and their social media problems - we have no signal from the local cell phone mast and no one is getting any texts - apparently a national disaster........! I am trying to get jobs done too but not very successfully, it sounds like they have resorted to youtube to pacify their teenage grumps, hope Smudge feels better soon x

  7. Having a list is an excellent start, I think. You'll get things done, I am sure of it. Don't push yourself too much, just do the must-finish stuff and the rest can wait until you feel more energetic. I'm doing lots of laundry today. I'm about halfway through it all right now, I think. I plan to quit fairly soon, though, done or not. :)

  10. Hey SarahJ,
I always cop out and get someone in to clean the oven. I did clean behind it though....

  11. Being mown down by life is sometimes just par for the course and the sick cat probably just feels like the furry cherry on top!

I wonder if any academic has studied the ratio of intention to clean the oven to the actual time they get cleaned.....? I just try to pretend mine is one of those completely self cleaning ovens....it isn't and I eventually have to give up on my delusion!
