Garden visitors

Matt has declared that lunchtime today was the best of the week.  Not due to my culinary skills!  As I was emptying the dishwasher, I looked out to see this!

Now - I know it's rural - but we don't usually see sheep in the garden!

They had escaped from the field opposite - so we gently "shooed"  them back back in that direction.  However, being sheep, they took a sharp right and headed off down the lane!

It was nice to see neighbours who we don't usually see through the winter, as several of us moved them back to their home. A real team effort.

Back safe and sound - we hope.  No sign of the farmer though!

Have a great weekend.

  4. Oh Sara!! At least you were at home so you could get them out of the garden before they ate too much!! A good way to get to know the neighbours!! Hope that you are having a good weekend and that the sun is shining there like it is here. xx

  5. We'd all be thrilled with a garden full of sheep as well. Glad you got them back in their field though. Looks like a beautiful area that you live in.

  6. Oh my gosh! What a surprise. They look really sweet but I'm glad you got them out before they ate everything. You reminded me of a time when I was a child; we had gone out in the morning to wait for the school bus and there were two horses in our yard. We didn't live in a rural area at all, but there was an open field not far away and people on the other side of the field kept horses. They had gotten free and wandered into the neighborhood. We went inside and told our mother "There's horses in the yard!" and she didn't believe us until one walked right up to the window to look inside!

  7. Oh my word! It's not every day you see a garden full of sheep. You really do live in the countryside. Cute as they are I can imagine that they'd do a fair bit of damage if they stayed for too long. The most wildlife we see in our garden is the odd squrrrel and next door's cat! x
