Hi there

I am still here - just in case you missed me.

Matt finished his exams on Friday - goodness they seem to have gone on forever again.  He tells me that some papers were tough, so now we put it out of our minds until results day as nothing more can be done.  Next we move on to looking at universities.

Home life has been tricky - I won't bore you with details, but suffice to say it has been quite draining on me, and I haven't had the energy to do much at the end of the day.

However, I did grab my camera on Friday.  This cheeky fellow was in the garden.  I don't often get squirrels in my garden - although there are loads around.  I'm quite glad really as they are so destructive - but it was quite fun to watch him.  I just hope he doesn't visit too often!

Wishing everyone a happy Sunday.

x

  1. I'm so glad Matt has finished his exams now, no doubt you are both heaving a huge sigh of relief. As you say, time to not think about it now. No doubt he will settle in to free time quite quickly! Lovely to have the summer stretching ahead of him. We don't have squirrels in the garden ever, but there are plenty around at the park. We saw one at the local school last night, jumping around and doing tricks. So agile. I hope you have a lovely Sunday. CJ xx

  2. Keep smiling that's all you can do. Hopefully be all sorted before too long. Hope Matt enjoys his summer break. I do like your cheeky squirrel and your photos catch him really well.

  3. Well done Matt, know how you are feeling as my boys have and are still writing exams. Funnily enough we had a squirrel for the first time ever in our garden yesterday. A bit of a ratty fellow with one milky eye and moulting fur - still it didn't stop him from giving me a chattery telling off! x

    1. There was a much lighter atmosphere as Matt got ready for school this morning! Although it felt quite strange - exams last week and new syllabus this! Not much time to breathe and relax for the pupils. x

  5. A sterile garden where everything is perfect is not one to be enjoyed. One where all are welcome and which provides for other creatures than ourselves, is one to give us joy and to revel in. Unfortunately gardening types are often selfish! Including using their loud machinery on nice days and their unfortunate habits of chopping and cutting back everything in the name of tidiness, while not having any appreciation for actual nature. Some birds are apparently welcome and will be fed but others might starve. It all gets a bit bizarre and unfriendly. 'Beautiful' gardens come at too high a price for me. I would rather have the visiting squirrels and cats too, for all the ripped up bark and chewed plants. They and other wildlife are what provides the life and energy of an open space.

  6. Good that exams are over, they can be so stressful and whatever happens is not the be all and end all. Hopefully life will slow down so you can get some craft and 'me' time. Your photo is brilliant :) xx

    1. One of the things I repeat frequently is that he can be proud no matter what as he worked hard, and nothing is so important it can't be re-sat! Easier if he passes first time - but not the end of the world.
I think it's another buys week - but not much on at the weekend which will be nice. x

  7. I hope that Matt's exam results will be really good! The squirrel is cute isn't he. I do wish that they wouldn't feel the need to dig things up though! xx
