As promised, here is a quick tour around Gibraltar.

We generally try and spend a day in Gib when we are in Spain.  There are some lovely restaurants, and it's always fund too see an M&S when you are on holiday!

It took us a couple of hours to cross the borders this time.  Thank goodness for air conditioning in cars! The outside temperature was 39degrees!  However, having heard the news the last couple of days when it has taken some people 6 hours to cross the border, perhaps we got off lightly.  At least it gave me the chance to take some photos whilst we were queueing

My nail varnish matches the sea wall!!

We spent a long time looking at Gib like this....  Grrrrr...

But finally - we arrived in time for a late lunch
A walk down the High Street
Time for a cooling drink at The Rock Hotel - so very old colonial England

Then time for a tour round the island (rather than up the Rock).  So much prettier and less busy....

First stop a water fall

then through a tunnel in the rock!

Pretty beaches and views

Seagulls, fish and boats

A game of cricket - I never seem to escape!

Not quite the green wickets of home!

And finally a splash of colour at La Genoa

Before going home.
Another good day.

More holiday photos tomorrow evening.

Happy Holidays

In view of the ridiculous amount of photos taken - I blame the fact that I have a new camera and we all wanted to take photos this year - I will share some photos over the next few days. Well, that's the plan but who knows how it will turn out!
It's been back to work today, so I'm writing this on my phone, whilst sitting in bed and hoping it all links ok.
Packing for holiday was fun. Now Matt is older I only have to worry about packing for me - which meant, how much yarn can I fit in?!

Hand luggage and then my case....

I wanted to start a new blanket. I'm about a third of the way through now. But back at home I will go back to the ripple. It's not a portable project now though.
We spent quite a lot of the holiday doing very little. Time for us all to recharge our batteries.
I ate some fantastic gambas a la plancha

Gambas pil pil
Some calamari

I'm sure there were some other things which weren't seafood. But it's such a treat to eat it - I find it hard to resist.

A lovely refreshing glass of water on another hot day.
When not doing very much, we were able to appreciate the house martins playing in the sky. I love how the sun light shows on this ones wing

And time to appreciate stunning sunsets

Tomorrow I'll show you round Gibraltar.

One job completed!  :)

Bunting blocked and ready to go to Lucy on Monday.

(I even managed to crochet a couple more triangles on the plane on the way home!)

I'm back

After a wonderful 3 weeks in the sun in Spain, I'm back.  I had thought of lovely blog posts I was going to do as soon as I was home - obviously wearing rose tinted specs and not thinking of all the "stuff" that has to be done as soon as you walk back through your own front door!

Oh well - hopefully I will get on the case later this week and share some pics of our time away.

But hope this one helps in the meantime....

Garden Flowers and a new visitor

Just a quick post, as we are off on holiday.

I should be packing!!  But, my garden is looking too pretty not to share.  And a racing pigeon has stopped over!

Baby Bunny

I know I will regret it - but isn't this such a cute view from my desk this evening?

Eating my apple core from lunchtime.
Siblings I guess?

Off to continue getting ready for holiday.  It's a tough decision - more clothes or more yarn?  Can I squeeze yarn in to my husband and son's case without them noticing?  It doesn't weigh much!  :)
